A local business wins a cooking contest with a dessert

John and Jodi Curtis of Veedersburg’s Whiskey Whiskers BBQ Competitive Team won the 20th Annual Madison Ribberfest Indiana State Championship Barbecue Cookoff. They won the dessert category with a perfect score of 180. Their dessert creation was a salted caramel creme brulee.

The Madison Ribberfest is a barbecue and blues festival held the third weekend of August along the Ohio River in Madison. The BBQ Master Series competition is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the enjoyment of barbecue around the world.
