COLUMN: Opie is a good happy boy

Happy Holidays to all ! My name is Opie and I am a 3 year old terrier / pitbull mix. I’m such a good boy, just looking for that home forever – as we all are at the Humane Society Shelter. They of course take good care of us here, but we are still waiting, wondering and dreaming of having our own home and our own family.

What are my favorite activities? Well, depending on how cold it is outside, I love to play cat and take long walks. The shelter staff tell me that I have very good manners on a leash so that makes me happy! I know a few commands like “sit” and “shake (with both paws)!” I’m also completely housebroken. If I find someone with enough patience to practice some more practice, I can probably play one too. good hand (paw) at card games!

Dear Winston, please work your special magic and help me find a home for the Holidays and New Years! Thank you, my love, Opie

Dear Opie:

I love your photo, what a handsome young man you are! These eyes are just filled with hope. I am rooting for you and I will make a special prayer for someone to see you and bring you home.

Good luck! Winston.

Cat pride
Litter program

We participate in the Cat’s Pride Liter for Good program – we have received 4000 pounds of cat litter thanks to nominations from the community. This is an ongoing promotion. The more nominations, the more garbage we get.

The litter, as you can imagine, is a big expense for us, so it would be a wonderful saving for our shelter.

The public is invited to participate as follows:

1. Go to catspride.com and join the free Cat’s Pride Club.

2. Click on the “Nominate” button to help us receive waste.

3. Enter the bonus code: 4GOOD and you will double your nomination to the shelter.

4. Buy a green pitcher of Cat’s Pride Fresh and Light – each time you do this another pound of litter is added to the total amount given.
