Delaware County Students Recognized at Colleges Nationwide – Delco Times
Hofstra University has announced the following local students who have been named to the Fall 2021 Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement. Students must achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to be on the Dean’s List. Local students who made Hofstra University’s Dean’s List are: Abigail Haugh of Garnet Valley, Alexa Jung of Boothwyn and Nathaniel Quinn of Rose Valley.
East Stroudsburg University
A total of 1,222 students were named to the Dean’s List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania for the fall 2021 semester of the 2001-2022 academic year. Students eligible for the Dean’s List are those who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or better and are enrolled full-time. Delaware County students who have been named to the Dean’s List include: Emily Egan, a communications major from Aston; Corryn Gamber, a major in media business management; Bailey McMaster, a physical education teacher training major from Garnet Valley; Matthew Richardson, a sports management graduate from Upper Chichester; and Alexis Wright, a digital media technology major from Thornton.
University of Scranton
Media’s Michael Castaldi was among the students at the University of Scranton’s Kania School of Management who completed a credited internship during the summer of 2021. Castaldi completed an internship with Lincoln Financial Group. Castaldi is a management student who will graduate in 2022. He was named to the University’s Fall Dean’s List.
Other local students also made the fall semester dean’s list, for having a 3.5 or better grade point average with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester. Students on the Dean’s list include Hannah Breslin of Springfield, a freshman kinesiology student; Kieran McCormack of Springfield, a junior kinesiology major; Martine Sirianni of Media, a first-year physiology student; Annamarie Palermo from Media, second year student in biochemistry, cell, molecular biology; Jordan Pedagna of Media, a second-year student in primary and primary teacher education; Daniel Crossan from Media, a young business administration student; Bryson Eldridge of Aston, second year journalism student – specializing in electronic media; Charles Seitz of Aston, a second-year computer science student; Madelyn Curtius of Glen Mills, a second-year nursing student; Katharine Murray of Chadds Ford, a human resources major.
Bob Jones University
Joshua Norton, a Bethel Township nursing major, was among approximately 820 Bob Jones University students named to the Fall 2021 Dean’s List. The Dean’s List recognizes students who achieve a GPA from 3.00 to 3.74 during the semester.
Sophia Tzitzikas of Upper Chichester and Felicity Zimmerman of Bethel Township are among approximately 660 Bob Jones University students named to the President’s List for high academic achievement in the fall 2021 semester. To qualify for the President’s List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.75 or higher for the semester. Tzitzikas is a first year piano pedagogy student. Zimmerman is a first-year biology student.
Daniel Risser of Bethel Township, a junior Bible and ministry student, is among more than 1,200 Harding University students on the dean’s list for grades earned in the fall 2021 semester. To be eligible, a student must complete 12 hours or more with a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or more and no incompletes.
University of Vermont
Media’s Lauren Bialek, Medical Laboratory Science major, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Media’s William Roberts, Business Administration major, Grossman School of Business, were both named to the University’s Dean’s List from Vermont. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20% of their class at their respective college or school.
Penn Central College
Central Penn College student Merily Rivas of Bethel Township was awarded the Daryl and Dennis Kenes Scholarship from the College’s Educational Foundation in the Fall 2021 term. Rivas is majoring in paralegal at an institution career oriented.
In the current fall term, 116 Central Penn College students received $110,000 in scholarships from the college’s Educational Foundation.
Coastal Carolina University
Nearly 2,500 Coastal Carolina University undergraduates have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2021 semester, including Paige Smith of Media, a psychology major.
Slippery Rock University
Slippery Rock University has announced its Deans’ List for the Fall 2021 semester. The Deans’ List consists of SRU undergraduates who have achieved an adjusted grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits. Local students who have been awarded Dean’s List status are Christopher Bielicki from Aston, Abigail Di Gravio from Glen Mills and Katherine Merillat from Media.
University of Maryland
Glen Mills residents Jeffrey Mc Glinn and Kimberly Nester have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall term at the University of Maryland’s Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must earn at least six credits during the term, achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the term, and maintain a 3.5 grade point average at the UMGC.
Class of 2022 member Sophia Falcone of Media has been named to Stonehill College’s Fall 2021 Dean’s List.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have passed all courses for which they were registered.
University of Rhode Island
The University of Rhode Island recently announced the Fall 2021 Dean’s List. To be on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have earned 12 or more credits for applicable letter grades in a semester. and have obtained at least a quality point average of 3.30. Local students who have been named to the Dean’s List include Springfield residents Grace Brzezicki and Jess McTaggart.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. To be eligible for Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graduate degree credits during that semester. Local students include: James Zhang of Chadds Ford, College of Engineering; Joshua Epps of Drexel Hill, College of Letters and Science; Harrison Berger of Swarthmore, College of Letters and Science; Maggie Kirby of Wallingford, School of Human Ecology; and Shanti Hug, of Radnor Township, College of Letters and Science.
The following local residents have been named to Hamilton College’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have completed a four-credit course load throughout the semester or more with an average of 3.5 or more. The students are Zavier Alvarez-Burock of Media, a sophomore, graduate of Strath Haven High School; Philip Gow of Chadds Ford, a senior government major, graduated from Lawrenceville School; and Shayna Polsky of Media, freshman, graduate of Penncrest High School.
University of Shippensbourg
Shippensburg University has announced the names of outstanding undergraduate students who have earned the distinction of being named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester.
Local students include: Hannah Bigler of Glen Mills majoring in biology at the College of Arts and Sciences; Megan Little of Glen Mills majoring in ECH Elem: Pre-K – 4 with the College of Education & Human Services; Abigail Seasock of Aston is majoring in exercise science with the College of Education & Human Services; Madison Breiner of Glen Mills is majoring in Special Education and ECH Ed with the College of Education & Human Services; and Francesca Picone of Garnet Valley majoring in Special Education and ECH Ed with the College of Education & Human Services.
Over 1,920 students have been named to the Fall 2021 Dean’s List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, an undergraduate student must be enrolled in at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60. Local students include: Lauren Albrecht from Media, Eric Bittenbender from Aston, Nicholas Colonna from Aston, Erin Patterson from Garnet Valley, Meghan Presta from Glen Mills, Valerie Stevenson from Upper Chichester and Julianna Trusello from Glen Mills.
Boothwyn’s Hope Wamae earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Wamae was among approximately 4,900 undergraduate and graduate students to receive degrees from Georgia Tech during the Institute’s 261st launch exercises in December.

Luke Shoemaker of Garnet Valley, has been named to the College of the Holy Cross Fall 2021 Dean’s List. A member of the Class of 2025, Shoemaker has an undeclared major. To be eligible, students must pass at least four letter-graded courses without failing during the semester and achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Amen Taye of Springfield was named to Muhlenberg College’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester, for having a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
University of Alabama
Emma Brune, of Morton, was named to the University of Alabama Deans’ List for the fall 2021 semester for achieving an academic record of 3.5 or higher.
Media’s Dana Jacobs and Chadds Ford’s Jessica Dahm qualified for Belmont University’s Fall 2021 Dean’s List. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below C.
