Heritage Humane Society – Animal Camp 2022
Calling all young animal lovers! Registration for the Heritage Humane Society Summer Camp is now open.
This popular experience returns for another season of hands-on fun and learning. Animal Camp 2022 introduces students in grades one through six to one of Greater Williamsburg’s most valuable and critical services, the Heritage Humane Society.
Campers discover the amazing world of this busy animal sanctuary that cares for over 1,000 furry (and lesser furry) friends each year. In the new Heritage Humane Society classroom, children will meet new friends, participate in daily pet enrichment, enjoy animal interactions, hear from animal service officers, veterinary technicians, caregivers pet care, and more.
Inspire the next generation
From simply wanting to learn more about pet care to aspiring veterinarians, Heritage Humane Society’s Pet Camp helps support campers’ passions for pets. Campers learn responsibility, cleaning, safety and proper care for pets. The diverse program cultivates compassion and an awareness of helping companion animals within the community as much as having them at home. Heritage Humane Society staff and guest speakers will deliver interactive presentations focusing on animal welfare, biology and conservation.
This camp is also an eye-opening opportunity for young people who ask their parents or guardians for pets. Campers learn that caring for a pet comes with great responsibility. They discover how essential it is 24/7.
Fox Wire Farms Alpacas
Heritage Humane Society Animal Camp 2022 brings back unique furry friends. This summer, campers can visit alpacas from Fox Wire Farm Alpacas. Alpaca trainers will help campers familiarize themselves with these docile creatures. They discover fun facts such as alpacas are pets and there are no wild alpacas in the world, they are the smallest member of the camel family and how their precious fur is 30% warmer than sheep’s wool.
