Over 1,000 animals ranging from dogs, cats and small furry animals will be available for adoption at the MEGA Adoption event in Fort Worth from Saturday to Sunday.

The MEGA Adoption event is hosted by the Humane Society of North Texas and the City of Fort Worth. In July, the Humane Society’s MEGA Adoption event was postponed due to an outbreak of distemper.

The event will take place at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Cattle Barn # 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. The $ 10 adoption fee includes spay / neuter, microchip, rabies, basic vaccination and 30 days of pet insurance.

Pets cannot be reserved in advance, according to the Humane Society website.

On Friday afternoon, the Fort Worth Police Department’s automotive unit escorted the animals to Stable No.1 in preparation for the event.
