Local business owner hosts monthly giveaways

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG / WECP) – Pamela Shack is the owner of Kaboodles Boutique in Marianna. However, once a month she hosts a food, clothing and furniture giveaway at Madison Street Park. Anyone near or far can come and get basic necessities for free.

“It’s free, free, free, free, free,” Shack said. “I mean, I can’t stress enough that it’s all free. Food is free, clothes are free.

Shack said she started doing this last year during COVID.

“It was the pandemic and I knew not everyone could be with their family and things, so I got together with friends and family and we just started cooking, and people heard about it, then started Thanksgiving, so people just started donating to – go the plates, everything, “Shack said.

When this event started Shack said it was a lot smaller, but over the months more and more people keep coming out. This month, however, will be a special treat, so she can make sure everyone has something under the tree on Christmas morning.

“Plus we have this drive-through food event, we have eight huge boxes of clothes,” Shack said. “So I am asking this year, if people don’t care, could they donate bags of unused candy and toys. “

The toy distribution will take place on December 15th and Santa will even be there to distribute gifts. Shack encourages everyone to come out and grab what they need.

To donate new or slightly used bags of candy or toys, call Pamela Shack at (850) 557-0175.
