The Blessing of Animals will be held at the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley – San Bernardino Sun

The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley will hold an animal blessing service at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4 at the Humane Society‘s Joyce Martin Education Center, 374 W. Orange Show Road, San Bernardino.

People are encouraged to bring their leashed or caged non-aggressive pets to the service which will be led by Pastor Woody Hall. Pets of all kinds are welcome, according to a press release.

The service will include prayers, readings and music, and prayers will also be offered for the families of deceased pets. After the service, there will be individual animal blessings.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and attendees are welcome to arrive between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

The event is free and drinking water for pets will be available.

Attendees are encouraged to bring animal photos and memorabilia to share as they celebrate, honor and remember the animals that have blessed their lives. Those unable to attend are asked to email jhenderson@hssbv.org or post a message to the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley Facebook page to add to the remembrance board that will be shared at the ceremony.
